Big things are happening behind the scenes at Spectrum Social Squad. To every member, your presence matters deeply. We see you, we value you, and we listen carefully to your feedback. Our mission has always been to create a safe space where you can be yourself without masks or barriers. To honor that commitment, we are pressing pause for a short time. There will be no events in May as we take this moment to rethink and rebuild.
This pause is not just a break. It is a chance to refresh our community culture and activities, and to grow in ways that better serve everyone. We are restructuring the Squad into two focused branches: one for Women, Trans, and Non-Binary members, and one for Men. This change will help us tailor experiences that feel more comfortable and meaningful for all.
Why We Are Taking a Pause
The decision to pause events for a month was not made lightly. We want to ensure that every gathering lives up to our promise of kindness, respect, and safety. Over time, we noticed that the diverse needs of our members require more focused attention. By stepping back, we can:
Reset the culture to emphasise respect and inclusion
Refresh activities to include more creative workshops and parallel play
Build stronger leadership teams for each branch
Listen more deeply to member feedback and adapt accordingly
This pause is a “power nap” that will help us come back stronger and more connected.
What the New Structure Looks Like
The Spectrum Social Squad will now operate as two dedicated branches. This division allows us to create spaces where members can feel fully supported and understood.
Women, Trans, and Non-Binary Branch
This branch will focus on workshops and events designed to nurture creativity, connection, and personal growth. Expect activities like:
Art and craft workshops
Group discussions on identity and experience
Safe spaces for sharing and support
The goal is to foster a sanctuary where members can explore and express themselves freely.
Men’s Branch
The men’s branch will have its own facilitator and tailored events that encourage openness and respectful dialogue. Activities will include:
Group discussions on mental health and wellbeing
Skill-building workshops
Social gatherings that promote connection without pressure
This branch aims to create a welcoming environment where men can engage authentically.

How You Can Help Us Grow
As we expand into these two branches, we need passionate volunteers to join our team. We are currently looking for:
A Male Facilitator to lead and host the Men’s branch
Helpers to assist with workshops for Women, Trans, and Non-Binary members
If you are organized, respectful, and want to help keep our community inclusive and safe, we would love to hear from you. Even if you know someone who fits these roles, please reach out.
Volunteering with Spectrum Social Squad is a chance to make a real difference. You will help shape events, support members, and build a stronger community.
What Members Can Expect Moving Forward
When events resume, you will notice several positive changes:
More focused and tailored activities for each branch
Increased opportunities for creative expression and parallel play
A renewed commitment to kindness and respect as the foundation of every event
A stronger leadership team dedicated to member wellbeing
Our aim is to make the Squad a place you look forward to returning to, where you feel safe and valued every time.
